While in CA....

We also spent part of the time in California with my family. There are four generations of Tolars in this picture too! My dad, Great Grandpa Tolar, Me, and Reese who you can sort of see behind the glasses. I am so glad that Aunt Kami took this picture! Thanks Kam! We had a fun time of relaxing together, eating together, letting the cousins "play", playing telephone pictionary with Uncle David the artist, and letting Reese entertain us with her singing and dancing. It really was wonderful filling my parents house with so much family! And we enjoyed the sunshine as well...we filled up on our vitamin D!

Thankful....

We traveled to California this Thanksgiving to be with family. This picture shows four generations of Thomsons, Gary (Matt's Dad), Great Grandma Jo, Matt, and Reese. We enjoyed a day at Matt's Aunt Alane's house were she cooked and cooked and cooked! The other Aunts, Uncles, and cousins showered Reese with birthday presents, (who says you can't still celebrate your September birthday in November!) lots of attention, and picture taking. Reese was the only little person in attendance. Matt's cousin Julie even made Reese a sweater that day! While Reese took a two hour nap (she slept like a champ in new places, another thing to be thankful for!) I enjoyed looking at Thomson family photos starting in the 1940s. There is just something about learning your family's history. It is comforting, revealing and helps me to understand others better and know them more. I am quite thankful that we had this time together.

Like her Daddy

I am one lucky girl! My husband LOVES to clean! Yep! And vacuuming is a highlight for him! I am also lucky because he is passing this love of cleaning along to Reese! In fact Reese will often ask to get out the vacuum to clean, as this is her idea of fun! Soon they might even win me over! :)

Personal Chef

I really enjoy running and working out. It is something that I GET to do and that I look forward to. But getting to eat healthy? Not so much.....well if I had a personal chef to cook me yummy, low calorie, healthy meals, then sure! But left up to me, well I stink at eating well. So I need to "train" to eat well. Just like running shape doesn't happen overnight, eating well won't either, at least not for me. My first goal: to eat a good breakfast! When I sip this meal I find myself eating too much in the afternoon. My seconded goal: to have good healthy snacks cut up ready to go. My third goal: to find yummy low cal sweets to have because there is no need to skip the sweets. So we will see how it goes! If you have any yummy healthy, easy to cook meals please send the recipe my way!
